HS - Mini Mentors, Mega Minds
Where creativity meets collaboration and innovation grows!
About HS Mini Mentors!

HS Mini Mentors delivers community-based, child-friendly creative workshops across the London Borough of Redbridge. Our unique “kids teach kids” model encourages children to learn from one another, building confidence through shared creativity, collaboration, and positive peer engagement.
Our aim is to create a growing network of Mini Mentors where children can explore a wide variety of creative activities, share ideas, and support one another. We promote encouragement over competition, helping children recognise and celebrate each other’s strengths. Through our workshops, children develop confidence, teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills—while most importantly, having fun.
Our Inspiration
Our passion for creativity was inspired right here in Redbridge. Over the past few years, we have been fortunate to attend a wide range of high-quality creative workshops across the borough. These experiences motivated us to create something of our own that would give back to the community and inspire more children to engage in creative and enriching activities.
Some of the wonderful workshops we have attended include robotics and stop-motion animation at Lab Central, coding and VR sessions at Lab FX, art workshops with Barkingside Art Club, craft activities at Space Studio, kite making with The Colours of Redbridge, lavender bag making at Valentines Mansion, and cappARTcino workshops at Hainault Country Park, to name just a few. We remain incredibly grateful for these opportunities and continue to take part in them alongside delivering our own workshops.
Our Journey
HS Mini Mentors began when Sameer discovered a love for origami through his school enrichment club and quickly excelled in the skill. Wanting to share his passion with others, he decided to lead origami workshops for children alongside Hafsa.
We reached out to Maria Reguera, Development Librarian for Digital Services and Innovation at Vision RCL, to share our ideas. From the very beginning, she believed in our vision and encouraged us to be creative and ambitious with our workshop themes. Within weeks, we delivered our first origami workshop, which was met with great enthusiasm. Since then, interest in our workshops has continued to grow.
We are always expanding our range of activities, with new ideas and workshops being added regularly.
