Where creativity meets collaboration and innovation grows!
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
- 01Our workshops are designed for children who can work independently, without parental help, so ideally aged between 6-14 years old. However, it is just a recommendation, as we are more than happy to help and encourage interaction amongst all age groups; hence, activities are adapted to suit different age groups, abilities, and learning styles to ensure every child feels confident and engaged. This encourages younger children to explore and the older children to challenge themselves.
- 02We currently offer three hands-on, imagination-boosting workshops: π¦’ Origami Adventures Children learn how to fold paper into animals, objects, and other themes while developing focus, patience, and fine motor skills. β»οΈ Upcycle Creations Using everyday recyclable materials, children design and build their own creative masterpieces depending on the theme of the workshop βgreat for imagination, problem-solving, and eco-awareness. 𧱠Building Block Maze Children work individually or in teams to design and construct maze systems using building blocks, encouraging collaboration, spatial thinking, and experimentation. Each session encourages imagination, collaboration, communication, networking and self-expression while supporting key developmental skills. Over time, we will be adding lots more workshops, catering to children's interests. STEM kits workshops will be added in the latter part of the year, so keep an eye out!
- 03Yesβlearning is built in through play! Our workshops support: β’ Creativity and imagination β’ Problem-solving and critical thinking β’ Fine motor skills and coordination β’ Teamwork and communication β’ Confidence building β’ Environmental awareness (especially in Upcycle Creations)
- 04Not at all! Our workshops are designed so everyone can jump straight in, whether itβs their first fold, first build, or first big idea. We are fully inclusive so that all children can take part and enjoy the creative process at their own comfort and pace.
- 05All workshops are led by Mini Mentors Hafsa and Sameer, with interests in creative education and working collaboratively with other children. Some workshops, mainly the weekday morning ones, will be run by Mama Mentor, who is DBS-checked and follows strict safeguarding best practices.
- 06Workshops typically last between 30 minutes and an hour, depending on the workshop and its theme.
- 07We bring the creativity to you! We deliver workshops on-site at community centres, libraries, events and other public spaces of interest across Redbridge. The location is specified in the details of each workshop.
- 08Yes! We bring all the materials needed for each workshop, including paper, recycled materials, pens, colours, markers, decorative accessories, building blocks, etc. We may suggest, for the Upcycle Creations Workshop, to bring any unwanted recycling materials that you may easily find around the house, but that's optional, not mandatory. We just need you to bring your enthusiasm!
- 09Group sizes vary depending on the workshop type and age group, typically between 10-20 per workshop. We work hard to ensure safe, manageable group sizes that allow every child to participate fully and interact effectively.
- 10Childrenβs safety is our top priority. We follow strict safeguarding practices and work closely with host venues to ensure a safe environment. We encourage independent work for children, hence expect the parents/carers/guardians to drop them off at the start time and collect them at the finish time. However, depending on the size of the venue, there is sometimes an opportunity to stay at the venue in a designated place, but this is not possible every time. Children are strictly monitored and are not allowed to leave the premises of the venue until the parent/guardian/carer is present.
- 11We adapt workshops to fit themes, topics, cultural events or special occasions. For more customised workshops, you can book us for your personal events and special occasions, so we can work with you to fully adapt our workshops according to your interests.
- 12You can book all our workshops online, on our website, under our Workshops page. Alternatively, for parties or private events, simply contact us via email or WhatsApp with your requirements, and weβll be happy to discuss availability, pricing, and next steps.
- 13We understand - Life happens, plans change. Hence, all our workshops are fully refundable up to 3 hours before the start time of the workshop. No refunds are issued for cancellations within the 3-hour time frame before the start time or in the event of no-show. Our cancellation policy will be clearly outlined at the time of booking. Please contact us as early as possible if plans change, so the space can be offered to another child in the waiting list.
